The MANNA FoodBank Mobile Market hosted by WNCCHS successfully made the move to AB-Tech's campus this week.
All markets are free and open to anyone who needs support with groceries. The WNCCHS Care Management team reports that 167 households and 544 people were served on Weds, Sept. 27.
With the flexibility provided by the new location, we were also able to transition to a “choice market” format. This means that patrons will now have the option to browse the market at their own pace and hand-pick foods that they desire. No more pre-packed boxes and drive-thru lines! We are very excited to not only combat hunger in the community, but to do so in a way that honors dignity and autonomy.
WLOS ABC News was also on the scene and interviewed Taylor Parkins, Director of Care Management. See the article here.
