Anita Case, MSW

Chief Executive Officer

Anita Case, MSW, serves as Chief Executive Officer of Western North Carolina Community Health Services (WNCCHS). She joined the organization in March 2025 after nearly 20 years as CEO of Affinity Health Center, a federally qualified health center (FQHC) in Rock Hill, South Carolina, and brings 28 years of experience in nonprofit health care.
During her tenure at Affinity Health Center, Anita led the organization’s transition from an HIV clinic to a comprehensive FQHC. She expanded access to care through the opening of four satellite sites in partnership with local school districts and led the planning, financing, and construction of a 30,000-square-foot facility to support expanded services. Under her leadership, Affinity’s onsite dental clinic grew from one chair to eight chairs, and she later co-developed a dental residency program seeking accreditation through the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA).
As CEO of WNCCHS, Anita leads the organization and reports to the Board of Directors. She is responsible for advancing WNCCHS’ mission and ensuring the organization’s long-term financial stability. She works closely with community and safety-net partners to serve Buncombe and McDowell counties and the surrounding areas, and is deeply committed to providing affordable, high-quality health care to those who may otherwise lack access.
Anita remains a Licensed Master Social Worker. A native of Rutherfordton, North Carolina, she earned her Bachelor of Arts from Wake Forest University and a Master of Social Work from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Anita and her family live in Candler.
