School-Based Behavioral Health

A teen girl leans on lockers in a high school while smiling at the camera. Behind her, other high school students are out of focus, walking down the hallway.

At WNCCHS, we understand the importance of providing accessible behavioral health care for children and teens. Our school-based behavioral health services make it easy for students to get the support they need without missing school. These services are currently available at nine middle and high schools in McDowell and Buncombe Counties.

About School-Based Care

Our school-based behavioral health program offers counseling and other mental health services directly in schools. This means students can receive care from licensed therapists in a safe, familiar environment without the need for transportation. Our team of licensed therapists collaborates with schools to address a wide range of mental health concerns and help students develop healthy coping skills.
