NHCW Tuesday
Community Resource Fair + Raffle | 11:30 a.m.–2 p.m.
Stop by the first-floor Main and Dental lobbies at Minnie Jones to meet some of our community and industry partners. Participating orgs include Operation Gateway, Pisgah Legal, WNCAP, Viiv Healthcare, Goodwill Business Development and more!
The goal of the fair is to help staff learn more about resources available to our patients and strengthen our connections with the organizations that help us support whole-person care.
Staff will receive a participation card and can collect a stamp from each table they visit. Visit at least 4 tables, get 4 stamps, enter our raffle — we will have 15 winners of some very cool prizes!
Patients are also welcome to visit the tables, although they will not participate in the staff raffle.
NHCW Wednesday
Lunch & Learn | Noon–1 p.m.
Dr. Carmen Robinson, WNCCHS Chief Medical Officer, will present “PrEP: Prevention Made Simple,” an engaging and approachable conversation about sexual health, HIV prevention, PrEP, and how WNCCHS is expanding access to this highly effective prevention service.
The presentation will be offered virtually and in person in the Minnie Jones Classroom. Lunch will be provided for in-person attendees, but only two in-person seats remain, so register as soon as possible: https://tinyurl.com/prep-lunch
An RSVP is not required for virtual attendance. The presentation will also be recorded and shared for folks to watch later.
NHCW Thursday
Staff Appreciation Cookout | 5:30–8 p.m.
Join us at Lake Julian Park for a fun and casual cookout with family and colleagues! There's no formal agenda or program — this is just an opportunity to relax, enjoy dinner, play games, enjoy the park, and celebrate another great year together.

NHCW Monday
Legislative Visit | 1:30–2:30 p.m.
Representatives Lindsey Prather and Eric Ager will visit Minnie Jones Health Center for a tour led by Anita, followed by a meet-and-greet with Board members and members of leadership in the Classroom.
Before the visit, please take a few minutes to make sure your work area and surrounding spaces are tidy. Please ensure that no HIPAA-protected information is visible and that food waste or other personal items are put away.
Ice Cream | 1:30–4:30 p.m.
Britt’s Sweet Treats will be parked in the usual Papa’s Express location in the Minnie Jones parking lot.
Staff may choose one medium soft-serve ice cream in a cup or cone, with a choice of chocolate, vanilla, or swirl and one topping.
Please remember:
Bring your staff ID to redeem.
One serving per staff member, please.
Sweet treats will also be delivered to McDowell Health Center (Hominy Valley Health Center will be closed).

The WNCCHS Engagement & Recognition Committee (aka, WERC 💅🏽) are working hard to organize a fun & festive Holiday Party for you all this year! In fact, we had so many great activity ideas that we need your help choosing! As a reminder, this is an optional after-hours event that will be held at Minnie Jones.
