Integrated HIV services at WNCCHS  include medical, dental, and behavioral health care delivered by competent, caring clinicians - and all under one roof (no running around). Additional services include prenatal care, care coordination, medical case management, linguistic services, on-site lab, onsite pharmacy, benefits eligibility specialists, certified application counselors, and Medicaid and Medicare/Disability application assistance.

WNCCHS also has an on-site 340b pharmacy with pharmacists on-site and available for consultations face-to-face.  Our Ryan White program also helps us provide medications assistance, including co-pay assistance, and assistance with applications for pharmaceutical assistance programs offered by pharmaceutical companies and private foundations. We also assist with ADAP and SPAP applications on-site. We believe using one pharmacy follows best practices.

Complementing our comprehensive HIV program, WNCCHS also administers the Housing Opportunities for Persons With AIDS (HOPWA) housing program.  The HOPWA program provides  housing assistance to low income HIV+ individuals living within our service area.  Our wait list for the HOPWA program is currently closed and we are not accepting new applicants at this time. HIV Prevention Services at WNCCHS

In April 2016 WNCCHS began a PrEP Program. PrEP, or Pre-exposure Prophylaxis can help reduce the rate of HIV acquisition among certain high risk individuals. Your WNCCHS provider can discuss PrEP and other options to reduce your risk of acquiring HIV. Ryan White funds cannot be used to pay for PrEP, so individuals seeking PrEP should research financial assistance options. Start by clicking on our PrEP link here  PrEP services are available in all 18 counties, as shown above.

HIV Testing/STD Testing at WNCCHS

WNCCHS provides free walk-in testing for HIV and syphilis for any of our established patients. WNCCHS also moved to universal HIV testing in 2015 and have provided 7,000 HIV tests in a primary care medical setting since then. For non-WNCCHS patients who live in Buncombe County the Buncombe County Department of Health provides free HIV/STD testing. Click here
