Dr. Kasee Metcalf Locke serves as Chief Dental Officer at Western North Carolina Community Health Services (WNCCHS). She is a general dentist with a special interest in comprehensive dental care for adults and in advocating for improved access to dental services.
Dr. Locke received her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Wake Forest University and her Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Dentistry. She graduated from dental school in 2011 and completed a General Practice Residency with MAHEC in Asheville from 2011 to 2012.
Following residency, Dr. Locke worked in private practice in Greenville, North Carolina, from 2012 to 2015. She joined the WNCCHS team in 2015, returning to Western North Carolina, where she grew up. During her dental residency, she completed a rotation at WNCCHS, an experience that solidified her interest in working within the federally qualified health center (FQHC) setting.
Dr. Locke is a graduate of the North Carolina Dental Public Health Leadership Institute (2022) and the National Network for Oral Health Access (NNOHA) Oral Health Leadership Institute (2023). In 2024-2025, she participated in the NNOHA Advocacy Collaborative, a year-long national initiative focused on advancing equity and access through systems-level oral health reform, representing WNCCHS alongside dental leaders from community health centers across the country.
Outside of work, Dr. Locke enjoys exploring Western North Carolina with her husband and dog – including backpacking, traveling, and the Asheville food scene.
