Ashley Quinlan, MSPAS, PA-C

PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT

WNCCHS—Minnie Jones Health Center

Ashley Quinlan, MSPAS, PA-C, is a physician assistant with a longstanding commitment to primary care and community health. She began working in family medicine in 2009 as a certified medical assistant, later becoming a clinical manager before deciding to pursue physician assistant training so she could take a more active role in caring for patients. She earned her Master of Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Kentucky in 2018.

Ashley has provided primary and acute care to both adult and pediatric patients and has experience in patient-centered medical home settings, chronic disease management, and gender-affirming care. She has also served in academic roles with the University of Kentucky Physician Assistant Studies Department, including teaching in areas such as preventive medicine, endocrinology, rheumatology, and family medicine.
Her interest in community medicine is deeply connected to growing up in rural Kentucky and Appalachia. Ashley has seen firsthand how life-changing access to health care can be and is passionate about serving people who may otherwise face barriers to care. She also has a deep respect for the resilience, hopefulness, and sense of community she associates with Appalachian culture.

Ashley takes a patient-centered approach to care, viewing herself as a guide and partner while respecting that final health care decisions belong to the patient. She works with patients to identify realistic, sustainable changes that support their individual goals and believes in combining lifestyle changes and medicine to help people take greater control of their health.

Outside of work, Ashley enjoys attending concerts, reading, sewing, hiking, playing board games, and cooking.
