Ren Carmichael, LCSWA, LCAS
Behavioral Health Therapist
Ren Carmichael, MSW, LCSWA, LCAS, is an Integrated Behavioral Health Therapist with Western North Carolina Community Health Services. Ren earned a Master of Social Work degree from Western Carolina University and has more than three years of experience in integrated healthcare and interdisciplinary settings. Her clinical interests include perinatal mental health, ADHD, neurodivergent behavioral health, and substance use treatment.
Prior to joining WNCCHS, Ren worked as a Behavioral Health Consultant in primary care, collaborating with medical providers and care teams to support whole-person care. She has experience working with children, adolescents, adults, and perinatal populations and utilizes evidence-based approaches including CBT, DBT, ACT, Motivational Interviewing, and solution-focused therapy.
Ren has completed the Advanced Perinatal Mental Health Psychotherapy Training through Postpartum Support International and supports individuals experiencing prenatal anxiety, postpartum depression, postpartum OCD, and pregnancy- or birth-related trauma.
Ren is passionate about ADHD and neurodivergent care and focuses on helping individuals build practical strategies for executive functioning, emotional regulation, relationships, and daily life. She is committed to providing affirming, strengths-based, and collaborative care that meets individuals where they are.
Ren values community health for its role in expanding access to care and reducing barriers to treatment. Her clinical approach is person-centered and collaborative, emphasizing practical skill-building and sustainable change.
Outside of work, Ren enjoys spending time outdoors, reading, crocheting, singing, and exploring creative interests. She is also an aviation enthusiast with a strong interest in aircraft and flight.
