Welcome, Venecia Marte, PA!

We are thrilled to welcome Venecia Marte, PA, as the newest addition to our WNCCHS—Hominy Valley Health Center team. With over 15 years of experience as a Physician Assistant, Venecia brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to our practice.

Fluent in both Spanish and English, Venecia's diverse experience spans across various medical disciplines, ranging from physical therapy & rehabilitation to internal medicine, psychiatry, and cardiology. She recently made the move to Canton, NC, from New York City, where she previously held positions at Elmhurst Medical Care of Queens and Montefiore Medical Center, among others.

Venecia received a bachelor’s degree in psychology in 1996 and her Physician Assistant certification from Saint Vincent Catholic Medical Center in 2003. Prior to her career as a Physician Assistant, she worked as an educator and medical administrator.

“Throughout my career, my mission has been to build connections that bridge the divide between patients and their well-being,” says Venecia. “I hold a deep-seated belief that acknowledging the unique nuances brought about by factors such as age, culture, and educational background is paramount. These differences enrich the tapestry of each individual's life and profoundly influence their health care needs. It is through this understanding that I strive to meet patients precisely where they are in their health journey.”

Physician Assistants, also known as physician associates or PAs, are licensed clinicians who work alongside doctors to provide medical care, prescribe medications, order tests, diagnose illness, administer treatments, and more.

“Joining WNCCHS has deepened my resolve to make a meaningful impact on the lives of those I serve,” says Venecia. “I am committed to upholding its legacy of community-focused care, tirelessly working to ensure that everyone, regardless of circumstance, has access to the highest quality of health care. I am excited to continue this journey of service, compassion, and growth as I contribute my skills and heart to the Hominy Valley Health Center and the wider Western North Carolina community.”

Please join us in welcoming Venecia Marte to the WNCCHS team! She will begin seeing patients on Sept. 19.
