WNCCHS—McDowell Health Center Begins Expansion to Broaden Health Services
Western North Carolina Community Health Services (WNCCHS) is excited to announce the start of construction on a significant expansion at WNCCHS—McDowell Health Center, located at 136 Creekview Court. Overseen by RYSE Construction, the project will enhance the center's offerings by adding an on-site pharmacy, care management services, and expanded behavioral health and primary care services.

WNCCHS's Medical Legal Partnership: Gigi’s Story
When Gigi met Brian, she had one week before she was going to be evicted. The letters she received confused her, and the thought of going to court alone was too overwhelming. “I would have gave up,” she says. “I would have let them evict me.”
Brian was able to slow down the eviction process, negotiate with her landlord to allow her to stay, and help her find rental assistance to catch up on her rent.

WNCCHS employees and family members enjoyed an evening of fun, runs, and beautiful weather at the Employee and Family Night at the Tourists Baseball Game on June 23.

Patient Privacy
The safety and privacy of our patients is our organization’s top priority, and health center policy mandates that every reporter be escorted inside patient care facilities. In addition to an expectation of privacy by all patients and visitors at WNCCHS, the privacy rights of all patients is protected under federal law by HIPAA, the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996. Members of the WNCCHS media team must secure written permission from patients, as required, in advance of any onsite interviews with patients or their health care providers.
